Great metronome!
This is one hell of a metronome!
I was expecting something robust and heavy but instead I got something light-weighted, yet really well-made, durable, and built with trust-worthy materials (that look really nice, too! - I love the looks of alder solid wood).
The mechanical mechanism is great (super accurate) and the bell can be easily programmed. The sound is a classic - it doesn't sound "fake", like modern plastic, but "real", like old wood and I, really like that! The bell sounds quite good, too (yet, if you program if too fast the beats will become just one ugly mess of sound but that's natural, I suppose - it is made to sound sporadical and not beat-to-beat, like the metronome itself).
It's not really portable so, for that, I would recommend a digital (smaller) one.
It is certainly an investment but if you're a musician, like me, you'll need one that will last you for life and this is the one for the job!

Very happy but why all those cheap plastic parts ?
I'm very satisfied with the metronome. The wood finish is beautiful and it works fine. Having bought this specifically because I like old fashioned wood quality, I was very disappointed to find out that there are many plastic parts to the metronome. It would have been so much nicer to have a wooden face behind the cover instead of this light black plastic. Same for the clip that secures the wooden face. It looks ugly and cheap. Why not use metal like the old ones ?

Poor build quality for the price
I returned the first unit as it was not calibrated and the beats were uneven on a flat surface. The second one has even beats but it runs a couple BPM fast, and has an annoying metallic buzzing sound.
For such a premium price tag I also expected a better build quality: the logo on the cover is cheap plastic, the mechanism is mostly plastic (not sure how long that will last), you cannot lock the cover if your metronome is set on 60 bpm or lower, some parts of the wood are not sanded and feel rough to the touch, messy paint application on the inside, and one bit of the mechanism fell off when I opened the package.

How much are metronomes!
I couldn't quite believe how expensive all metronomes are but I have to say this is a beautiful bit of kit. Furniture making level of build quality & obviously rock solid time keeping. The bell to denote the start of the measure is surprisingly loud!

You get what you pay for.
Does exactly what it says on the tin.
