Got this for my Roland JDXi synth so as to have a flight case for on-road use. While larger than needed, it's a lot cheaper than a custom keyboard case, and leaves plenty of room for accessories. I was able to carve out slots for 2 Radial DI Boxes, as well as the PSU, gooseneck mic and other leads.

Cutting the foam requires patience, and a sharp long bladed knife. Thomann had one of these for less than £1 so I bought this at the same time.

It's heavy relative to what I'm carrying in it, but not difficult to carry around.

Overall, very happy with the purchase.

CQ
Excellent, sturdy case for the travelling engineer.
Chris Q. 21.04.2020
I work largely in location recording and so I need a means of of keeping all my microphones secure in transport and arranged logically. While some of my mics have their own dedicated hardcase, nearly all of my mics go into this case. Setting it up was real easy, just chop the foam out in the shape of your mics and in they go. It's traveled plenty and it's still holding up great. Just have to wait till I buy a few more mics before I justify buying a second!

S
Far superior to anything I've had before...

I was previously using a camera case bought from a large store, chinese made and adequate but had outgrown it. This Thomann case is almost twice the volume capacity for not much more than I paid for the camera case (though it was a little bigger than I anticipated), but what impressed me the most was the sheer quality of construction. The pick-foam core is very very easy to model, meaning all my expensive kit (sax and vocal mics and radio kit) is now far better protected and spaced far enough apart that I don't need to worry about any of it getting damaged. Love it.

C
Very good value.

I use the case to carry a small mixer and DI box to gigs.

It really is ideal for this because its robust, well made and you can cut the interior foam to size.

To be honest cutting the foam can be fiddly and time consuming even though it is readily scored into small squares. Cut a smaller hole for your item to start with as compressing the foam squares helps it to stay in place during carriage and you don't make any errors in cutting too big a hole. Once its cut, its cut.

So, very sturdy, not heavy, good solid catches and carries delicate items securely. Plus it looks good. All you need is time and a bit of care to cut things to size.

Highly recommended at this type of price level.
