Superb!
Algirdas 10.06.2015
I was looking for a small and simple amplifier that could reproduce the sound of my electric guitar as accurately as possible and the Roland Mobile Cube attracted my attention. I got tired of guitar combos that are packed with unnecessary (for me) features and have speakers that hype certain frequencies. Worst of all, most of them are designed to offer distorted tones that are absolutely useless for jazz. Even though I didn't expect much out of such a small amp, I decided to give it a try.
As soon as I took the Mobile Cube out of the box, I noticed how well built it was. The fit and finish, as well as the quality of materials, is amazing! I couldn't find a single imperfection! It may look like a novelty item but it feels like it's been built to last. Sure, I could complain that all of the jacks are made of plastic but so are the jacks on certain amps that cost ten times as much...
When I turned the Mobile Cube on, I was blown away by how quiet it was. It produced so little noise that I thought it wasn't even working. As soon as I started playing, I was very pleasantly surprised by how big it sounded. I most certainly didn't expect two four inch speakers to fill the room as well as they did. The frequency response is extremely flat and the volume is much louder than its modest power rating would suggest. Since it's a stereo amp, it produces a true chorus effect, just like the legendary Roland JC-120. To me, it sounds much more natural than the chorus found in other amps. I must add that the reverb is great, too. Very warm and natural sounding.
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. The Roland Mobile Cube does everything I want it to do and it does it perfectly. If you're looking for a small amplifier that would provide an accurate reproduction of your instrument's tone, you should definitely give the Mobile Cube a try.

S
Exceeded my expectations.
ShredHead83 01.01.2022
Got this amp mainly for the battery function and something to use at home with my guitar. What to say? Wow! it exceeded my expectations - it also has the option to run off wall sockets, (although its doesnt come with the adaptor included), it feels pretty sturdy and durable, the sound quality is great! Its Really clear - if u like chugging, the chugs sound great! those palm muted notes sound awesome! For the watts it has i didnt expect it have the volume or kick that it has either. (I only use the volume about a quarter of the way up in my apartment). Between the settings on the amp and the settings on the guitar you can get a variety of different sounds out of it - blues, country, rock, metal..... and sounds great on all of them. You can also use it with other instruments, acoustic guitar, keyboard etc, mic, headphones, an aux and all the good stuff. comes with a stand mount, a very handy carry case which actually feels pretty comfortable when slung over your shoulder, makes its very easy to carry the amp around in. It also comes with a strap for the amp itself, making it very easy to move the amp around and pull it in and out of the case too. Fully recommended for a variety of uses - home, small street performance, or if ur going somewhere with ur friends. Money well spent!

C
Great little amp
Chas7 12.08.2019
Roland do great amps, full stop. I bought this for outdoor gigs in our little town square.it works really well, just about enough volume to get ur voice and guitar across. I also have the Roland street cube. What I like about this little baby is you can screw it onto a stand also. It has some great features on it . For me the big plus is portability, battery operated amps and street gigs go hand in hand. It takes acoustic and electric guitars with ease.
Granted, the street cube has more power etc, but this little brother has it’s place
They are great quality amps and mine has held up well since a bought it

UKE AMP
JBHJBH 06.02.2019
Iwas pleasantly surprised to find this amp is of such high quality. Though it is of modest volume, the sound quality and build are very good. Batteries do not drain quickly at modest-levels of volume use...while using the effects too. For home use it would be better to purchase the adapter too.

Pos: Build quality and Sound + separate mic input.
Neg: Small red light indicator/no ext speaker output/heavy-ish

...otherwise, well-priced and not many suitable challengers of this type of portable amplifier.

i finally found my take everywhere play anything amp!
JAZZARAZZER 22.02.2014
Great quality of sound from this little 2 kilo amp. I've put my flute, guitar, vocals and mp3 through it and they all sound great. Strat, humbuckers, electronic acoustic piezzo,it doesn't matter, all super, and I have and have had a lot of amps. In volume there is plenty and easily compares to my zt lunchbox which weighs twice as much and doesn't run on batteries. The chorus is lovely and a very nice reverb too. Very good overdrive and distortion, not at all harsh but very musical with plenty of overtones. Plenty of input options. A chorus depth control would be ncce but that's just a detail. Easily worth twice the price. Put your guitar rx box in front of it and play in stereo - just gorgeous. Ill happily take this everywhere from Duke and flute sessions in the pub to miked up on stage and only 2 kg to carry. Fantastic.recommended to everyone

As a street player, in my opinion, no one needs anything better than this amplifier. I've been using it for over 10 years.

If you need not loud, it's OK
Client37 26.05.2023
I had one for years to play around at home, and to that purpose this was OK. I had to sell it, and I got another one with the idea of using it for busking, but it's way too quiet for that. If you turn the volume up, feedback is overwhelming. Too bad, because it's excellent quality, super sturdy and very light too.
