Rode M 1
Mattie 25.01.2015
Bought this Mic a few weeks ago as I do a large amount of singing, I seen it advertised on Thomann at around £30 less than the industry standard SM58.

I am currently building a home studio so cost is a massive issue, after reading a few of the reviews I decided to risk it and go for the Rode M1 instead of the sure SM58 & I have to say I am really glad I did.

The sound quality was crystal clear and really smooth in comparison to the sm58 which I also have used and initially set out to buy, would have to say in my opinion save yourself the extra few quid and go for the M1 as the quality both in build quality and sound is on par if not better!!!

Regards Mattie

BR
works great
Barry R. 13.02.2016
in the church i attend we were having problems with mics suiting our lead male vocalists. we tried many different mics including the well known industry standard mics. after reading up on this mic i thought i would give it a go. the Rode M1 has worked a dream for what we need. its replicates the vocals well, has great feedback rejection and it is built well. and the price is competitive too.

L
Nice mic for background singers
LoTone 17.08.2014
I am no real vocalist. I just sing some background voices in our band or sometimes a single song. And my voice is rather weak and more on the low end.
My experience with the classic live mic (Sh... SM...) was that I did not hear me at all. It seems as if it only works if the singer is shouting loud in a quite high voice.
So I had to find an alternative and I tried several entry-level mics from Sennheiser, Shure, Beyerdynamics, AKG, Samson, ... I kept some of them. Some were sold again. Some worked fine.
But after reading some recommendations for the Rode M1 I gave it also a try. And what should I say? It's great!
It produces a nice clear sound that is easy to identify in a whole mix. I still have to tweak the EQ to reduce the bass because of the proximity effect. But other frequencies can be left flat.
I have no noticable problems with feedbacks even though my voice is not that loud.
For me this mic is a great value for the money.
