7. Microphone cases

If you love your microphones, you should also take care to store them correctly, and protect them when on the road. Large temperature shifts and excessive moisture should be avoided. Dynamic microphones are typically less fragile than condenser microphones. Condensers can produce crackling noises or even remain silent when they’ve been exposed to moisture. If you only own a couple of live microphones, you can store them in the included pouches. If you're in a band or own a large collection of microphones, a padded microphone case is a good option.

Extra care should be taken with sensitive studio microphones, as they don't tolerate abuse as well. This is especially true for ribbon microphones. And make sure that the foam in your microphone cases is in good condition and doesn't disintegrate, as particles could end up on the microphone diaphragms.
