A folk guitar that won't break the bank

Harley Benton HBCG45 guitar, front view

Harley Benton instruments have long been known for offering excellent quality for beginners or musicians who are on a restricted budget, and this certainly holds true for the Harley Benton HBCG45, a Folk-style steel acoustic guitar featuring a laminated mahogany body and sturdy hardware that, despite its incredibly low price, is impressively durable and delivers a commanding sound. Visually too, the instrument shines with its dark natural finish, cream-coloured binding on the body and neck, gold-plated machine heads, and mother-of-pearl rosette inlay. In addition to the guitar, this Harley Benton Blues Guitar Set 1 also includes a padded gig bag with external accessory pockets and backpack straps.

Precision in acoustic sound

The Harley Benton HBCG45 provides a mid-focussed sound with a very immediate response that is suitable for both chord strumming and especially fingerpicking. The slim and easy-to-play neck boasts a modern C-profile and a fingerboard made of roseacer – maple wood that has been specially heat-treated to give it a similar appearance and playing feel to that of rosewood. The bridge, also made of roseacer, provides a comfortable resting place for the player's picking/strumming hand, while a thinly applied satin lacquer gives the instrument a traditional appearance and makes it smooth to the touch. The picture is completed by the gold-plated, die-cast machine heads, which promise many years of easy and reliable tuning.

An affordable entry-level guitar

With its budget-friendly price, the Harley Benton HBCG45 is primarily aimed at beginners, who typically have only a modest budget at their disposal. Despite its modest price tag, however, this guitar promises plenty of acoustic power and years of playing enjoyment. The slim-taper neck makes it significantly easier for beginners to get started, and the light-gauge strings with which the HBCG45 comes from the factory mean that those first chords and exercises won't become a feat of strength and endurance. Additionally, the guitar's matt natural finish and cream-coloured binding provide a wonderfully traditional look from top to bottom, making it an eye-catching piece in the living room or during sessions with friends.

Preiswerte Westerngitarre - nicht mehr und nicht weniger
Max R. 18.10.2009
