Plenty sturdy for the job, but definitely fiddly!!
RyanB92 28.01.2023
I got this so I could have 2 splash cymbals mounted near my hi-hats. First an 8" plus an old 12", then the 8" again with a new 6" splash.

Since having 2 splashes in my kit, I have been incorporating them heavily into both fills and beats, and after a few months of decent use, this boom arm has held its position nice and firmly, yet to slip at all. So I'd say that it's a good bit of kit that'll stay sturdy once you get the positioning right.

However, getting the positioning right was tricky!! There is plenty of play in how far apart you can mount your 2 cymbals, but the wingnuts and poles frequently get in the way of each other, so tightening everything up can be difficult. Also it must be kept in mind that while the 2 cymbals can be spaced closer or further, and also raised or lowered with respect to each other, they can't be rotated out of their parallel arrangement. Because of this I had to think a little more carefully about the position of the entire cymbal stand, and so I found that mounting this splash arm to a boom stand made things a little easier for final positioning.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who's looking to mount 2 small cymbals virtually anywhere in their setup. But I would stress this boom arm is better for studio or rehearsal applications. Given how fiddly it can be, I'd find this particularly frustrating to have to set up at a gig, especially if I was pressed for time.

Perfect for those fussy with their cymbal placements.
Schmac-Ten-Burger 14.04.2021
Perfect for getting cymbals, bells and whistles into all sorts of nooks and crannies usually out of reach of conventional stands. Solid locks and sturdy quality as one would expect from Gibraltar. My only complaint is that I wish the mini L-rod was vertically adjustable also, then the mounting options for this gizmo would be virtually unlimited.

J'ai hésité à cause du prix
stephbosquet 17.08.2023
