The quality you expect from Boss, but not quite perfect
emcgon 23.10.2021
These are generally excellent. They are well constructed from good materials and look like they will last. In use, they are quiet and transparent. The only time I have experienced drop-outs was then the receiver was right beside a Wifi device (a smart plug). Other than that, they are perfect. I haven't tested the limits of their range.

There are a few minor annoyances. There is a 6mm socket which allows the transmitter to be plugged into the receiver for charging. This (cleverly) also doubles as a way for them to agree on a clear frequency to use (you plug them together for a few seconds until a light flashes and they will figure out the best frequency to use). This is also a tempting way to store them when not in use, but if you do so, the batteries will run down. You can't store them plugged in together like that.

Second, there is a small pin near the base of each plug that is pressed down when you plug the units into the guitar (transmitter) an amplifier (receiver). The socket in the guitar/amplifier actuates this pin when turns on the transmitter/receiver. This saves having to switch them on and off with a switch. However, if the "mouth" of the 6mm socket they are being plugged into is a little thin, reliably actuating that pin can be a little bit hit-and-miss. I found one guitar where the socket wall was inclined to "miss" the pin and failed to turn on the transmitter. Would be easily fixed by adjusting the guitar socket.

The complaints are very minor: overall I'm more than satisfied with the quality and performance of these.

N
At last a working wireless system!
Nightbe 21.12.2020
I am very pleased with the boss WL-20. I haven't used in during gigs, for obvious corona reasons. But In my home and studio it is a real pleasure to have this wireless system. No rumble or any other noise. Sounds even better than when I played with a cord. Lasts long so not a lot of loading needed. Easy plug and play. Just slide it into your amp and guitar and you're up and running.

Boss is always BOSS

Are you tired of dragging that guitar chord on floors and dirty stages? Or do you have a small rehearsal space where tripping over chords can be dangerous? Look no further, this is what you need! I have used this product almost daily for over two years, practicing at home, band rehearsals, live and in the studio and it has never let me down. The battery capacity seems as good now as when it was new. It works for both guitar and bass and gives a very clean tone from the instrument. Finally, the guitar's tone control can shine! It has a good range, at least 15 meters in open air and it works through walls as well. Highly recommended!

Don't hesitate, buy with eyes closed!

As I was tired of tripping over my guitar cable during rehearsal and being limited to standing close to my amp, I decided to spend to some $$$ on breaking free and be able to concentrate on playing and enjoying playing again.

The Boss WL-20 is my first wireless guitar setup so I cannot compare, but basically it more than ticks all boxes.

Setup is super easy: just connect the receiver and the sender with the jack plugs for a couple of seconds until they are paired on the most optimal frequency.

Charging is done with a micro usb cord to a 5v adapter (not supplied but you usually have those lying around).

Design wise I was afraid the units were going to be a bit bulky. They are not super small but they don't sit in the way on my Gibson Flying V.

I connect the receiver my home made pedalboard then run that wired to my Marshall amp.

Latency was super important for me and this is really the part I value most: latency is super small and not audible even for fast soloing or metal riffs. It really feels as responsive as being connected with guitar cables.

Definitely recommend this so far!
