lovely & lively bass, beautifully warm while preserving details of the whole frequency spectrum
Loay Soudi 16.06.2021
Bass is simply phenomenal! punchy and lethal, feels like a planar but without the planar disadvantages (oversize and heavy weight), I’m really not sure how did beyerdynamic manage to get this kind of massive powerful bass from such small dynamic drivers, moreover; while very bassy and warm sounding; no detail is lost when bass is punching through your skull, it really is a master of keeping its very high resolution and preserving detail whether its treble or mids, all is there and all perfectly intact, if you are a bass head that happen to love high res audio too look no farther.

another aspect i love is its warm sounding profile which is a welcome thing that is rarely found in ultra-high end headphones, very smooth and comfy sounding, those headphones was intentionally tuned for home use and entertainment, it should never cause you any fatigue no matter how long or loud you listen to them which is a plus in my opinion, some might be turned off because of its very warm sound nature and its totally understood if you are used to more bright sounding headphones, but unless you're planning to use the headphone strictly for audio production/monitoring i highly advise you to give it a few days till your ears get used to its warmness and trust me it will grow into you and you will love it for any and all entertainment purposes be it music, cinema or gaming, damn if that shotgun doesn’t sound epic!!!

Finally sound stage and imaging is simply great and is what you would come to expect from any open back headphone, not much to say here, all is good.

now the only disadvantage i see is its fit and comfort, its not exactly uncomfortable; but its not the best either, the ear cups are a bit on the smaller side, barely fit my ears (which are not exactly the biggest ears btw), also the fit is a bit on the lose side so be careful they don’t fall down if you happen to move fast or lean down to grab something ... so yeah i hope T1 4th gen will address that.

Disappointing Upgrace
Wigoner fan 23.10.2020
I'm a huge fan of the beyer sound, I have bought a lot of their models, including the t1 and t5 2nd gen, so I was eager for this update they call a "masterpiece".

Sorry, Beyer, but this is far from a masterpiece, not even a very good headphone, but something it should cost 300/400 euros top. Not 1000.
The sound is too boomy on most music genres, muddy and not defined or refined and the highs lack sparkle completely. Excesively warm and not in a velvety way like some Audeze models.

So, imo this is just a meh downgrade. The design also nothing special. The best looking beyer flagship was the original t1, and the t1 2nd gen also looked better than this thing that I'm still fighting to like trying it on a lot of headphones amps like the Rupert Neve RNHP, the ifi Zen Can, the Topping A90 or even the Beyer A2.

Sound is lacking in all of them.

Not worthy of being called a "flagship" headphone.

Everybody seems to hate them. I LOVE them!
ChrisDF 16.05.2023
I have had (and still own) quite a few Beyerdynamic products in my life. Coming from the DT880 600Ohm and Amiron Home, i THOUGHT i knew what to expect. I mean before reading the reviews, i was expecting a high frequency fiesta with the absence of the lower region and the need to use the warmest chain available to man. After reading through a few of the reviews, i thought to myself "Well, people seem to hate them for not having the usual Beyer house sound which means i might actually like them!".
And like them, indeed, i do.
Pros:
- Excellent build quality
- Supreme comfort (while subjective, for me, it is perfect)
- Just enough clamp force to not have them fall off the head
- Amazing bass (i'm not a bass head but i do love my bass)
- Surprisingly big headstage
- On badly mastered recording, some sense of sibilance might occur (very, very rare, though)
- Very good instrument separation

Cons:
- The package is mediocre (headphones, cable and an adapter; i would have expected more at this price range - at least a second, balanced cable)
- My product has arrived with some scuffs on the left ear piece, right next to where it meets the ear pad (i'm waiting for a reply from Thomann to see how we can solve this; they either came this way straight from Beyer, which means some less than desirable QC or Thomann made a mistake and sent me an used, open-box pair)

All in all, they are exactly what i was hoping them to be! When i've seen so many people hate them, i thought this might actually be my chance to enjoy a pair of headphones from Beyer. I highly recommend buying them but everything else considered, i'd say that their full, retail price is not justified, even if for the simple package alone. Sound wise, they rival headphones which are higher priced and this is what redeems them.

Sehr feiner und differenzierter High-End-Kopfhörer!
Mlad 15.05.2021
